What is the Power 2 Play Fund and How Do I Apply for It?

The Power 2 Play Fund supports healthier, more active lifestyles by providing accessible funding tailored to community needs.

ISWO created the Power 2 Play Fund with the goal of removing barriers, providing access to resources, and reducing at-risk behaviours. The Power 2 Play Fund awards financial support or equipment to proposals that demonstrate how culturally grounded sport, recreation, and physical activity opportunities can enhance overall wellness.

Available Funding

There are two (2) streams of funding available through the Power 2 Play Fund:

Stream 1 - Bauer Hockey Equipment

Bauer Hockey equipment sets (helmets, gloves, sticks, and skates) to support programming.

Please indicate in your application the number of hockey equipment sets you are requesting. We have a requirement of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15.

Stream 2 - Financial Support

Through this stream, we will award up to $5,000 to successful applicants to use the funds to procure equipment to support community-based programming. Applicants for this stream can choose to use 20% of the funds to support the certification and/or training of sport leaders to help support sport programs in the community.

What Do Successful Applications Need to Show?

We select projects based on how they will:

- Lead or grow Indigenous participation in sports and recreation activities in a community or organization located in Ontario

- Grow a community's capacity to deliver additional or improved sports, recreation, and physical activity programs as a direct result of this funding.
